THE STORY

Hawaii's golden age of travel began when air service opened up the islands. No longer did travelers have to endure a weeks long ocean voyage to reach paradise. Air travel was expensive, but in 1950 a Pan American Strato Clipper set a new commercial air record for a flight between Honolulu and Los Angeles by making the trip in 7 hours and 20 minutes. The door was open and mainlanders eagerly embraced the Hawaiian style and culture.

We want you to think of this as your home while you're here. We've gone to extraordinary lengths to make sure you're comfortable, well-supplied and have all the amenities to relax and enjoy what we think is the most beautiful and interesting of the Hawaiian Islands.

The Big Wave Penthouse celebrates this early Hawaiian style throughout. We've taken care to integrate all the elements of the warm and colorful Hawaiian ethos in every aspect of the layout and design. Life in Hawaii revolves around the water and the beautiful Pacific Ocean is front and center and visible from nearly all the areas of the penthouse. Soaring 20 foot ceilings, massive sliding glass doors and floor-to ceiling windows blur the distinction between inside and outside..

Original Hawaiian art is displayed and 50's period furniture from well-know designers such as Paul Frankl, Paul McCobb and Heywood Wakefield is both beautiful and comfortable.

Located directly ocean front on the Kona Coast of the Big Island of Hawaii, the Big Wave Penthouse is available for family and friends only.

The Penthouse has 2 full bedrooms, a large convertible sofa and 2 full bathrooms . Six people can comfortably occupy this large luxury condo.

The Big Wave Penthouse is a 3rd floor, corner unit in the Keauhou Surf and Racquet Club, a lush, magnificently landscaped,  14 acre, low-density, gated  condominium complex.
